A mantra is either given to you by a guru or chosen by yourself. When selecting a mantra, be clear on what your intention is, and use your intuition over your intellect. and activate mala by doing Japa.
There is one important precaution, no matter what mala you are wearing be it Sphatik, Rudraksha etc., Do not wear it when you go to burial grounds or funerals also at night, you should take out this mala before going to bed.
Sphatik gemstone, which is also called as Sphatik crystal or Crystal Quartz, is stated as the “powerhouse” of energy and positivity.
In order to energize a Sphatik Maala, you have to take the help of Mantra. Wash it under the running water on the first day, sit with your legs crossed on the floor, hold the Mala and and chant the Mantra given by your guru or selecting yourself.
One of the best ways to cleanse your mala beads is to keep them in the Ganga Jal for a few hours to cleanse it.
Hold your mala in your right hand, draped between your middle and index fingers. Starting at the guru bead, use your thumb to count each smaller bead, pulling it toward you as you recite your mantra. Do this 108 times, traveling around the mala, until you once again reach the guru bead.

Carefully wrap the Mala as many times as you can (usually 3 to 4 times) to slide it around your wrist. We do not recommend wrapping full gemstone Malas as the tension created can break the strand. We make 27 bead bracelet malas to wear on your wrist.
One should have a Mala or Rosary consisting of 108 beads as is significant in all Tantra & Veda Texts. Repeat Mala for 2 to 3 times daily and minimum 1 time.
